My Story
LIANA LUXE: The Maelstrom of Ethereal Electric Creativity
Born as Lyanna Erin Martin on October 14, 1983, LIANA LUXE is an American pop singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, performer, music producer, and filmmaker. Hailing from Berrien Springs, Michigan, of Scots-Irish American and Afro-Cuban descent, she has become a beacon of ethereal electric creativity, captivating audiences with her unique sound and dynamic performances.
Early Life and Musical Beginnings
From a young age, LIANA LUXE displayed an extraordinary musical talent. Her father, the President of a local playhouse, introduced her to musical theater, while her mother’s Afro-Cuban heritage enriched her musical influences. Despite being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 10 and undergoing surgery at 14, her resilience never waned. At a party at Muhammad Ali's home, her impromptu piano performance earned her encouragement from the legendary boxer, urging her to "Be a champion and go all the way."
Modeling Career and Transition to Music
At 14, she signed with Elite and Ford Models, working in commercials, print ads, and runway shows. However, her passion for music remained unwavering. Moving to Chicago at 17, she balanced her modeling career with her musical aspirations, attending Lake Michigan College, Ivy Tech, and The University of Indiana at South Bend.
Rise to Fame
LIANA LUXE first gained national attention as a contestant on VH1's "Rock of Love" and NBC's "The Voice." Her unique voice, described by Cee Lo Green as "strange and unique and bizarre and great and wonderful," earned her a spot on Team CeeLo. Her performances on the show, including a rendition of "Hey There Delilah" showcased her distinctive style and vocal prowess.
Musical Achievements
Under her birth name Erin Martin, she achieved her first chart success as the lead vocalist and co-writer on Chicago House Legend Roy Davis Jr.'s "I Have a Vision," which topped dance charts across Europe. She has worked with renowned producers NO ID and Mark Saunders and has been featured in hit shows like "Pretty Little Liars" and "One Small Hitch."
The LIANA LUXE Project
LIANA LUXE has been meticulously crafting the LIANA LUXE project, blending her diverse musical influences into a cohesive and captivating sound. Her single "Mary Anne," released in January 2024, was produced by Grammy winner Ernest Dion (No ID) Wilson, with contributions from Sterling Stacy. Her music video "Bright," set to premiere on VEVO, is a testament to her artistic evolution.
